Like Minded Folks

Waiting to board a flight to El Salvador as part of a Compassion International Sponsor Tour, I’m amazed at the diversity of our small band of 53 Child Sponsors.

As Christians, which I’ll assume most are, we are often referred to as like minded folks. I sort of like the term, and consider it a compliment to be counted among those who follow Jesus Christ.

But like minded in almost every other way, we are not. We are made up of males and females from 11 to 70, students to engineers and sailors to knitters. I don’t know these folks yet, but will soon, and look forward to discovering the unique gifts God has given each one.

So off we go, our small band of like minded folks, bringing salt and light to a hurting world, and in so doing, seek to be seasoned and enlightened on the way.
